建築写真の技術を駆使した竣工写真の撮影事例

ある企業が、本社に隣接して新たな事務スペースと保養スペースを備えた増築ビルを完成させました。建築写真撮影の専門家である私は、旧本社ビルと新増築ビルを一つの写真に収め、会社の歴史と未来を象徴する一枚を撮影することが重要だと考えました。

建築写真撮影の課題

挑戦はすぐに明らかでした。限られたスペースと建物の大きさ、そしてカメラのレンズの制約が重くのしかかりました。最高の超広角レンズを用いましたが、それでも一度に全ての建物をフレームに収めることはできませんでした。

パノラマ撮影技術の活用

そこで、私はパノラマ撮影の技術を駆使することに決めました。レンズはシフト機能を備えており、これを活用して3カットを撮影し、それらを組み合わせることで広がりのある一枚を作り出す計画でした。

撮影プロセス

まずは、最適な位置と角度を見つけるために何度も試行錯誤を重ねました。そして、シフトレンズを使って左右に動かしながら3カットを撮影しました。このプロセスは慎重さを要し、各カットが完璧に重なるように細心の注意を払いました。

デジタル編集の重要性

しかし、撮影はこれで終わりではありません。撮影後、青空を鮮やかにし、不要な物を取り除き、雨の水たまりや積雪を消すなど、デジタル編集を施して最終的な一枚を完成させました。

建築写真としての完成品

こうして出来上がった写真には、旧本社ビルと新増築ビルが見事に収まり、会社の歴史と未来が一つのフレームの中で語られています。この一枚は、単なる建物の記録ではなく、企業の歩みとその先に続く道を象徴する一枚となりました。

A Photograph Weaving History

A company recently completed an expansion adjacent to its headquarters, adding new office and recreational spaces. Their request was to capture a photograph that included both the old headquarters and the new expansion, symbolizing the company’s history and future. As an experienced architectural photographer, I was entrusted with this important task.

The challenges became evident quickly. The limited space, the size of the buildings, and the constraints of the camera lens all posed significant hurdles. Even with the best ultra-wide-angle lens, I couldn’t fit all the buildings into a single frame.

Thus, I decided to employ panorama photography techniques. My lens had a shift function, and I planned to use this feature to take three shots, which I would then combine to create a single expansive image.

First, I repeatedly experimented to find the optimal position and angle. Using the shift lens, I took three shots, moving the lens from left to right. This process required meticulous care to ensure that each shot overlapped perfectly.

However, the task wasn’t complete with the shooting.

After capturing the images, I performed digital edits to enhance the blue sky, remove unwanted objects, and eliminate puddles and snow. This post-processing was crucial to finalize the image.

The resulting photograph beautifully incorporated both the old headquarters and the new expansion, telling the story of the company’s past and future within a single frame.

This image became more than just a record of the buildings; it became a symbol of the company’s journey and the road ahead.
